Getting Around The Island Traveling through Guam's 21 villages is quite easy. Route 1, known as Marine Drive in honor of the marines that recaptured Guam in World War II, is the main road that connects the North with the South. There is also ample signage to assist you and maps are available at the airport information booth, most hotels and rent-a-car agencies, as well as the Guam Visitors Bureau located in Tumon.
