Guam's Population
The population of Guam, as reported in its 2000 census, is just over 154,000 people. The 1990 census reported a population of just over 133,000 people; so over the last decade Guam has enjoyed an approximate 14 percent increase in its population. Guam has become home to a variety of Eastern and Western ethnicities as well as a variety of outer-island cultures, truly becoming a melting pot of many cultures. The ethnic composition reflects the following percentages: 43 percent Chamorro (natives), 23 percent Filipino, 15 percent Asian ethnicities, 14 percent Caucasians, and 5 percent other Pacific Islanders.
